Lumpy Ridge in RMNP

We took a trip to Lumpy Ridge at Rocky Mountain National Park over the long weekend with our friends Jeffrey and Emily. Chris and Jeffrey spent the first day doing a multi-pitch climb while we hiked to a waterfall (at least that is what the book called it). On day 2, we went to Lily Lake which is a very busy area, but we left the crowds quickly behind when we headed straight up to the sport climbing area. I climbed my first 5.8+, which the guide had mistakenly marked as a 5.6. On our last day, we decided to take it easy and hiked to West Creek Falls near our campsite. By the end of the weekend, we had hiked about 20-25 miles. We camped at a back country site about a mile in off the Cow Creek Trail to avoid the crowds, which was nice and quiet. The only problem I had with the spot was the fact that we had 3 snake encounters while hiking back and forth...that is a record I hope to never break!
